In the month of September, HOBA once again planned and oversaw approximately 20 projects for hundreds of GAP employees all over the Bay Area! For the 9th consecutive year, HOBA and Charles Schwab joined forces for Schwab Volunteer Week around the Bay Area. During May, HOBA led over 900 Schwab volunteers at 36 unique projects focused on homelessness and financial fitness.…

This year 3,700 Google employees volunteered in the Bay Area from June 10th through the 17th during their annual GoogleServe event. HandsOn Bay Area developed over 70 GoogleServe projects from building compost bins with Collective Roots in East Palo Alto to painting hallways at Everett Middle School in the Mission District of San Francisco.

What's your favorite HOBA project?
My favorite project to date has to the Alameda Point Collaborative. We were joined by a spectacular corporation known as RMS - Risk Management Solutions, who fearlessly dove in, and completed a huge list of tasks. 1/16/10: HOBA Volunteers renovated James Denman Middle School in San Francisco. Volunteers landscaped, painted and installed new furniture for teachers.
