Restore Habitat at Twin Peaks

July 24, 2010



On Saturday, July 24, volunteers from HOBA, REI, and PG&E bundled up to clean up the area at Twin Peaks in San Francisco, all with the goal of creating a better habitat for the indigenous Mission butterfly. After a passionate orientation from one of San Francisco Recreation and Park’s specialists, volunteers noshed on bagels and hot coffee graciously provided by Noah’s bagels.

Congratulations to Tessa and Beth!

HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA) is proud to announce that Tessa Hedstrom has been named to the post of Program Director.


Tessa joined the HOBA team in October 2006 as an AmeriCorps member. Following two service terms, Tessa was hired on staff as a program manger. BEFRIEND A FAMILY at the Ronald McDonald House 7.13.10 in Palo Alto

Today was my first time volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and I had such a great time! It was with such an intimate group of 8 of us and everyone had something to do.



Volunteers today provide, cook, and serve a meal to families of children with life-threatening illnesses. Children travel great distances to access the quality care available in the Bay Area; Ronald McDonald House provides low-cost, temporary residences for their families.
