Share your volunteer stories, meet friends, & learn about Bay Area volunteering
Just about 300 volunteers convened at Ocala Middle School in San Jose on MLK Day 2012 to beautify the campus. Kaiser volunteers from San Jose and Santa Clara worked together with volunteers from Playworks to redesign an educational garden, landscape the front of the school and quad area, paint eight classrooms, the library, cafeteria and both locker rooms. Volunteers also painted a beautiful "Healthy Eating" mural on the cafeteria wall as well as reading and social justice quotes in the Library and Locker Rooms. It was a wonderful day of community service! Special thanks to our very own HOBA volunteer project leaders, Playworks, Our City Forest and the Kaiser Community Affairs teams for making it all happen.
